Meet Améo Essential Oils

Purity and quality are the two most important aspects of any essential oil.  Both affect its therapeutic value, aroma, color, potency and, when applicable, flavor.  By carefully and correctly (1) sourcing our botanicals from our global partners, (2) validating their quality through extensive testing of every batch that we produce, and (3) following a cutting-edge delivery system, we can guarantee that you and those you care about receive the best essential oils available anywhere in the world.  All of these steps are overseen by (4) Améo's Scientific Advisory Board.  Click here to see the Améo CERTI-5 Difference.

The ants go marching one by one hoorah hoorah!

Now, how many of you say HOORAH when you see ants!  NOT!  Tis' the season (actually it's always the season for ants). Here is an Ant Spray recipe to help you keep those little pests away naturally.  Thank you Kyle S. for sharing this recipe with us!

1/2 c. Water, 1/2 c. Vodka, 20 drops each tea tree and peppermint oils, 10 drops of a citrus oil (such as Orange or Lemon). Mix it in a spray bottle and use it wherever you need it. Then put some peppermint oil on cotton balls and place them around the house, or near the areas where you're having the problem, and the ants shouldn't return. We use the peppermint oil cotton balls when we camp and they work great.

Laundry Detergent

This recipe is from Dr. Johnson and Dr. Plant's book, Synergy, it's and Essential Oil Thing!

Laundry Detergent (Powder)
From the book… Enjoy clean clothes naturally with this combination of washing soda, baking soda, soap, borax, and essentail oils.  Your laundry will be cleaned, disinfected, and smell great with this group of antimicrobial oils.

 2 cups washing soda
2 cups baking soda
1 bar Zote soap (14.1 oz.)
1 cup borax (or substitute sodium sesquicarbonate)
20 drops essentail oil

**For a citrus scent….5 drops lemon, 5 drops orange, 5 drops tangerine, 3 drops grapefruit, 2 drops lemongrass.

**For a fresh scent….7 drops pine, 7 drops eucalyptus, 4 drops balsam fir, 2 drops Pür Vie (citronella).

Add  drops to suit your taste.  I love the fresh scent!!

Grate the soap bar with a cheese grater (I used my food processor) and place in blender or food processor.  Mix borax, washing soda, and baking soda in a large bowl.  Slowly add about 1 cup of the powdered mixture to the blender or food processor until all the mixture has been added and blended together.  Drop the essential oils into the mixture and blend for about 10 or 20 seconds.  Place finished product in a half-gallon container.  Use 1-2 tablespoons per load of laundry.

Make doing laundry FUN!

Happy washing!

>>Cracked Heel Whipped Butter Ingredients<<

    •    ¼ cup Shea Butter OR Mango Butter
•    ¼ cup Coconut Oil
 •    3 Tablespoons Beeswax
•    ¼ cup Magnesium Flakes + 2 Tablespoons boiling water
•    7 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
•    7 drops Cypress Essential Oil
•    5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
 •    5 drops Cell Therapy Essential Oil Blend

1    Scoop the magnesium flakes into a small bowl and pour 2 tablespoons
2    of boiling water over them stirring until it dissolves. This will create a thick liquid. Set aside to cool.
3    Fill a small sauce pan with 2 inches of water. Then place an empty quart size mason jar inside the sauce pan. Add the coconut oil, beeswax and mango/shea butter to the mason jar and heat it on medium.
4    The beeswax will be the last thing to melt. When everything is melted, remove the jar from the pan and let the mixture cool to about room temp and slightly opaque. At this point, pour it into a medium sized mixing bowl.
5    Use a hand blender or immersion blender on medium speed and start blending the oil mixture.
6    Very slowly, over the course of about a minute, add the dissolved magnesium mixture to the oil mixture while continuing blending until all of the magnesium mix is added and it is well-mixed
7    Add the essential oils and whip until combined
8    Place in the fridge for 20 minutes and re-blend to get body butter consistency.
9    Fill your jar and put it on your bedside table, or store it in the fridge for longer shelf life and an amazing cooling effect.
10    The first three nights: Apply a thick coat and wear socks to bed. After major cracks have gone away, apply less thick and rub in like a lotion before bed, no socks necessary. For even better results, exfoliate dry feet first using a pumice or foot file, then soak your feet in hot epsom salt water, let dry and apply the butter.

Thank you McKenna Gordon for this recipe!

Sunburn Relief Recipe

Add 4 drops each of lavender, tea tree, and peppermint in a 4 oz. spray bottle.  I then filled it halfway with aloe vera gel and half with distilled water.  To supercharge it I added 4 drops of Helichrysum.  It is also moisturizing if you are lucky enough to not have to need it for sunburn relief!  If you don't have helichrysum, just use lavender for calming and peppermint for cooling.

Here is another recipe for Sunburn Spray out of Dr. Scott Johnson's book, Evidence-Based Essential Oil Therapy...

1/4 cup filtered or distilled water
1/4 cup pure aloe vera juice
3 Tbsp. witch hazel extract (alcohol-free)
1 Tbsp. white vinegar
15 drops lavender essential oil
10 drops melaleuca (tea tree) essential oil
5 drops peppermint essential oil

**Combine all ingredients in an 8-ounce glass spray bottle and shake vigorously.  Shake well before each use and spray to affected area(s) as often as desired!

April Showers Bring May Flowers...ETC...

(Here are a couple of recipes out of "Synergy, It's an Essential Oil Thing" by Dr. Plant and Dr. Johnson!)

Cough Syrup.....

**Soothe coughs with this natural cough-relief blend.  Honey is soothing to the throat and may reduce cough.  The combination of essential oils supports the respiratory and immune systems and encourages the expulsion of mucous.

3/4 cup pure, raw maple syrup
1/4 cup raw honey
 10 drops lemon essential oil
   5 drops peppermint essentail oil
  5 drops marjoram essential oil
3 drops Roman chamomile essentail oil
   2 drops ginger essential oil

Combine maple syrup and honey in saucepan and melt over low heat.  Once the mixture is melted, remove from heat and add the essential oils.  Stir to mix.  Pour in 8-ounce jar and close lid tightly.  Keep refrigerated.  Give 1 teaspoon of this mixture up to 3 times daily (age 6 or older....omit peppermint for those age 1-5;  do not use honey in children under 1).

Sore Throat Remedy

A combination of soothing honey and essential oils provides relief to dry, irritated throats.  Lemon has a long history of easing sore throats.  This synergistic blend of essential oils was selected for pain relief or immune-boosting properties.

1/2 cup raw honey
10 drops lemon essential oil
  5 drops peppermint essential oil
  2 drops rosemary essential oil
2 drops tea tree essential oil
  1 drop clove essential oil

Mix together with a spoon and pour in a glass jar.  Take 1 teaspoon every 2 to 4 hours (age 6 and older).

Would love to hear how these work for you!
